The Curriculum at St. Michael’s is broad and balanced, engaging and inspiring and consists of the 2014 National Curriculum and the EYFS Curriculum, alongside SMSC and events and community links that help prepare children for the next phase in their education and for life in Modern Britain.
Our Curriculum is underpinned by Christian Values, growth mind set and emphasises a child-centred approach to teaching and learning.
From investigating Fairtrade and growing our own food to exploring historical characters the children are immersed in science, geography, history, art, design and technology, PE, music and computing all underpinned by literacy and numeracy skills in a cross curricular approach.
Through a topic based approach the children are taught the key skills from the National Curriculum in a relevant and meaningful context. The Curriculum is supported by our homework and the children learn more about topics through a series of independent tasks and activities that they can engage in with friends and with their families.
