At St. Michael's we strive to inform and enrich the lives
of all the pupils in our care. The formative primary years are crucial
for children, who need huge amounts of positive input from school and
home alike. We would wish to see the pupils develop their potential physically,
mentally, socially and spiritually. To this end, we endeavour to promote
excellence and confidence in all areas, whilst always trying to maintain
the precious wonder of childhood which can be lost all too quickly in
As a Church of England school we are pleased to offer Religious
Education and Worship which is Christian and bible-based. The pupils attend
St. Michael's Church three times a year and the ministers take assemblies
in school once a week. We aim to develop and maintain Christian values
within the school and hope that parents who send their children to St.
Michael's will understand and be supportive of this position.
We use a blend of traditional and modern teaching methods,
hopefully bringing together the best of both worlds. Pupils will have
opportunities to take part in practical work, go on visits and outings,
learn French and use information technology. Pupils will also wear uniform,
have regular homework and undertake spelling and times tables tests. There
are regular opportunities for parents and staff to communicate about the
progress of pupils and foster a positive partnership which will benefit
the pupils' education.
Please do visit the school if you want to find out more.
If you are a prospective parent we look forward to a happy association
with you and your children.
